Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist who was able to successfully cross the divide between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift let go of the influences from her country music in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin. She revealed that she was one of the most talented singers/songwriters in her time. Swift could make the event personal and use it for her benefit. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and in the process, finding a mass audience. The album was a huge success, not just on American soil, with six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. However, it did exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift managed to build upon her popularity by releasing Speak Now almost two year later. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, Swift's popularity grew and she was able to enter a music scene in which it became clear she deserved to be. She was at the top of pop even after she changed her style with her sibling albums, folklore and Evermore in 2020.
